The EU-funded Twinning project "Strengthening the capacity of state bodies and local level referral mechanism to provide safety and support to victims of domestic violence"organized online discussions aimed to assess the enabling environment for criminalization of domestic violence in Azerbaijan on 2 February, 2021.

The discussions were attended by Taliya Ibrahimova, Head of the Legal Support Department of the SCFWCA, Vafa Alakbarova, head of Domestic Violence Unit at Legal Support Department, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, Baku State University and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

During the discussions, the the Lithuanian experts asked for the opinion of the participants about the gaps in the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure in terms of criminalization of domestic violence and possible amendments.
