Scientific approach to the fight against drug addiction: "Listen first"
Share:
In recent years, the age of drug users around the world is getting younger. According to the 2019 report (report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), it was found that 35 million people worldwide are addicted to drugs, and most of them are between the ages of 18 and 25. In this regard, it is important to identify and treat adolescents addicted to drugs and toxins in a timely manner, to protect the population from this danger, and to inform them about the consequences of drugs in a timely manner.
To protect their children from such dangers, parents should conduct psychological conversations with them and inform them about harmful habits. The first step to supporting their psychological health is to listen to children and young people.
As you know, the goal on health under the number 3 is one of the main goals of Sustainable Development and is aimed to prevent drug use. To achieve this goal, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is implementing the "Listen First" campaign.
The global campaign aims to increase support for a scientific approach to the fight against drugs using the hashtag #ListenFirst.
As the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, we support the campaign by sharing videos and information sheets prepared on the campaign on our website and social media accounts, and we hope that it will contribute to awareness-raising in this area.
