On April 17-18, 2024, a two-day training was held on the topic "Protection of children's rights in criminal proceedings" with the participation of Turkish experts within the framework of the "Action Plan on Cooperation Protocol in the field of policy on family, women and children issues signed between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey" by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey.

Ms. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, the chief of staff of the Committee,  made an opening speech at the event and spoke about the importance of cooperation relations regarding the establishment of specialised children's courts, children's police and children's prosecutors, and the study of the positive experience of the Republic of Turkey and its promotion in Azerbaijan in order to create services that meet the needs of children.

The training covered themes such as pre-trial proceedings against minors on criminal prosecution in the Republic of Turkey, protection (support) of the rights of children who are victims or witnesses during the investigation of crimes, methods of cooperation of prosecutor's offices with institutions for the protection of children's rights, Turkey's experience in fulfilling obligations under the Council of Europe Convention (Lansarote Convention) "On the protection of children from sexual exploitation and sexual violence"  and other topics. An employee of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Turkey also participated in the training conducted by Mujahit Gulshen and Jem Kurt, the legal advisers of the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey through a live link.

A total of 80 prosecutors participated in the training held at the Science and Education Center of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
