On April 19, 2023, elections to the Public Council were held to determine the new composition of the Public Council consisting of 11 members under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

39 candidates whose documents meet the requirements stipulated in the legislation have been officially registered.

In order to organize the election, an Election Commission consisting of 9 members including 4 members from the representatives of the State Committee and 5 members from civil society institutions was established, and according to the protocol of the Commission, the number of members of the council was approved as 11.

It was announced by the State Committee to participate in the voting regarding the holding of the elections, and 372 civil society institutions that applied were registered between March 7 and April 10. 329 of them participated in the voting.

At the end of the election process, the votes were counted under the supervision of observers with the participation of the relevant commission members. As a result of the transparent election, a new composition of 11 members of the Public Council was elected. Those persons are the following:

3. "Patriots of World Azerbaijanis" Public Union - Aliyeva Arzu Babakhan

4. "Yeni Hayat" Humanitarian and Social Support Public Union - Ismayilova Naila Isgander

5. "Education on Regional Socio-Economic Development"  Public Union - Maharramova Elnara Ashir

6. "Azad Hamfikirler" Youth Education Public Union - Mustafayeva Samira Veli

7. "Legal-Social Assistance and Awareness" Public Union - Akbarov Fariz Vahid

8. "Youth Anti-Drug Addiction" Public Union - Mammadova Bullur Javad

9. "Azerbaijan Women's Republican Society" Public Union - Abbasova Vafa Zahid

10. "Merhamat" Help to the Destitute" Public Union - Nasirova Irada Polad

11. "Support to Innovative Education of Women and Children" Public Union - Zulfugarova Aynur Vagif

It should be noted that according to the legislation, the term of office of the Public Council is two years, and a new composition of the council must be elected every two years.

The Public Council will operate in the direction of public control of the activities of the State Committee, organization of effective interaction between the Committee and the public, the formation of state policy and the consideration of public opinion and legitimate interests of citizens during decision-making.
