A board meeting of the State Committee was held

Online meeting of the Board of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs was held on July 9, 2021 to discuss the results of the first half of 2021 and the tasks ahead.

Opening the meeting, Mrs. Bahar Muradova drew attention to the achievements in the socio-economic sphere of Azerbaijan after the Great Patriotic War and said that these successes were achieved under the direct leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

In particular, speaking about the importance of the establishment of the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions by the Presidential Decree on the new division of economic regions in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairperson noted that this is a sign of steps to develop the liberated territories and provide comprehensive care for returnees.

Emphasizing the socio-economic development of the population living in the regions, Mrs. Muradova added that the State Committee has implemented projects to strengthen the economic activity of such families, including women.

It was noted that the State Committee, like other government agencies, in turn, is trying to fulfill its responsibilities in accordance with the new requirements of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mrs. Ramila Seyidova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic noted that the work done to improve the living conditions of the families of citizens killed or lost their health for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to strengthen the social protection of young families, to protect children's health, as well as to provide comprehensive state support to women entrepreneurs.

She noted that today the autonomous republic is taking consistent measures to improve the material well-being of families, create new jobs, build households, organize exhibitions and sales of handicrafts of talented women, as well as women with disabilities, low-income families in self-employment programs are involved.

Mrs. Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Chief of Staff of the committee presented information on the implementation of the Work Plan of the State Committee in the first half of 2021 and the Work Plan for the second half of 2021.

At present, the State Committee draws attention to the issues on the plan and agenda to prevent domestic violence, ensure gender equality, women's rights, as well as increase economic participation, develop children's leadership and protect their rights.

Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee drew attention to the strengthening of measures taken by the State Committee to meet the needs and interests of rural women to increase their participation in social and economic life.

Speaking later, Deputy Chairperson Mrs. Aynur Sofiyeva gave detailed information on the implementation of the Action Plan of the Commission for the Protection of Minors' Affairs and Rights under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2021.

In the end, the board of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs made decisions on the topics in the agenda of the meeting.

It should be noted that the online meeting was also attended by representatives of the Child and Family Support Centers and Women's Resource Centers operating under the Committee.
