The General Prosecutor's Office held a meeting on minimizing suicide and attempted suicide and implementing preventive measures

On June 23, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized a high-level conference with the participation of representatives of numerous government agencies and non-governmental organizations to minimize the number of suicides and suicide attempts.

 Opening the event, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, consistent reforms have been carried out in all areas, the welfare of citizens has improved, and social protection has always been in the spotlight.

 It was noted that, despite the fact that suicide and suicide attempts are one of the most serious social problems in the world, this problem in our country is many times less than in other countries, since the main attention is paid to taking the necessary measures to prevent such cases.

 Speaking at the conference, Minister  of Education Emin Amrullayev noted that minimizing suicides in adolescence is one of the main directions of the educational process, indicating that the main goal of educational policy in the country is to improve the quality of education.

 Speaking at the conference, Chairperson of the State Committee for  Family, Women and Children Affairs  Bahar Muradova stressed the importance of reducing the level of domestic violence and quality rehabilitation of people, stressing the importance of taking urgent measures to prevent suicide through the concerted actions of the relevant authorities. Agencies stressed the importance of increasing the number of educational events by eliminating the negative impact of social media.

 Within the framework of the event, the presentation of the book "Suicides and Driving to Suicide, Social Phenomenon and Crime", prepared by the General Prosecutor's Office, took place.
